Melting Away

Our visitors are gradually leaving.

D and C and their two went today.  It snowed  half-heartedly all morning and we heard that the A68 was closed at the Carter Bar. But the A7, leading to the M6 was ok, and they set off in mid-afternoon, on the long trek to Kingston. 

Fingers crossed that they aren't held up. If they are, they have enough food to keep them going -  Christmas cake and cheese are just the stuff of emergency rations, I'm sure. And the children have all those new toys to amuse them. Should be fine!
