Hogmanay 2017

I’ve said before that I’m not always a fan of Hogmanay celebrations but this year’s are low key even by my standards. We’re not even at our own Hogmanay party, which should have been here but which has decamped to our younger son’s house. The food went yesterday, on the train, in a wheely suitcase. He’s cooking (again) and everyone is assembling later to enjoy. But on the positive side I’m pretty sure the virus is on its way out. Other positives are that even in the middle of Storm Dylan the sun is shining. And this reliable Viburnum (grandiflorum?) is sending out its flowers from its bare stems to cheer up the winter garden.

Wishing you all health and happiness in 2018.
