Out on the bike trail

Saturday
I had an uplifting morning at church this morning for our monthly ladies Coffee and Conversation meeting. Our presentation this morning was given by Meredith, our director of youth ministries, assisted by 6 or 7 of the Senior High girls. They gave an overview of their activities throughout the year, together with a slide presentation, and then the girls each spoke individually about the importance of the youth ministry in their lives. We are so blessed to have such a talented and dedicated director of youth ministries - she is clearly a strong influence and supporter in their lives. My only regret is that there wasn't someone like her leading the program when my kids were at that stage in their lives, especially the eldest two.
After lunch, Roger and I went biking on the bike trail. It was a very popular place this afternoon - many families and several groups of cyclists. While I was taking a previous shot on our outward journey, one guy cycled by, talking on his cell phone, and he was telling the person on the other end he'd passed 79 people in the last three miles! Admittedly, this had taken him through Loveland, which is the most popular segment of the trail. I know this isn't reflected in my blip - this was taken on the way back, when it was a little quieter. This particular guy was clearly out for more than an afternoon ride, judging from his panniers and sleeping bag etc on the back of his bike!
