Cartmel Fell

Went for walk this morning around Cartmel Fell and up to its summit, Raven's Barrow. Despite its moderate length and height gain it was still a challenge at times. After last night's rain under foot was very boggy and squelchy. On the outward section storm Eleanor provided useful tail winds but uphill into the wind on the way back was very tiring. I particularly liked this view as it sums up what the south Lakes is all about ... low undulating hills with rock outcrops, boggy hollows and a patchwork of dry stone walls. Photography was a challenge too ... trying to keep the camera still despite the buffeting and having to use a high iso setting as the light was so low.
