Taking Down the Decs

No sentiment at the Lamb pub in Ashby de la Zouch whither I resorted for breakfast after having footcare at Ashby Podiatry Clinic next door. The decs are being taken down.

It was a good, hot breakfast.

I was lucky today in that when I arrived at the car park, a lady who was leaving gave me her ticket. I was ten minutes over by the time I got back to the car from the pub but no sign of the dreaded traffic wardens.

At home, I received an anonymous ie, Unknown, phone call informing me that my operation has been cancelled due to the need for beds for emergencies. Maybe on the 23rd but no promises.

Now on the 23rd, the camera club is to host Jack Perks, a young wildlife photographer who has done work for the BBC (Springwatch, Countryfile). I met him at Patchings Arts Centre last July and was much inspired. So it's a real bummer that I'm probably going to have to miss the pleasure of his presentation on 23rd. It was the one real highlight of this month that I had to look forward to.

Still, it will give me a better opportunity to get over this wretched cold. Must gird up my loins and get on with my Active 10 goals. Haven't achieved 10 minutes of brisk walking today but will try harder tomorrow.

Len and Basil and I landed up at Colin's late this afternoon to hand him the two slimline calendars that feature his cat Nelson, and also Basil. It's good. I have very few spare calendars left over this year.
