Gomshall

Friend A can't see very well and rarely travels by train at night unless i) the station is very well lit and ii) she is met off the train. I persuaded her to meet me at Gomshall Station so we could meet up with one of our old underwater hockey team friends who now lives in the States.  I was pleased to find the tiny unmanned station was extremely well lit . I am also taking this opportunity to show off  my new car - a 4x4 ready for living in Cumbria.  The pub; The Abinger Hatch, seemed to be in the middle of nowhere but was in fact just a  couple of miles south of the A25.  We wondered how on earth Surrey managed before the M25. You can read  A's additional  observations here. Thanks A for the idea to blip the station
