Powerless

A day without electricity really makes you realise how much our lives depend on it. With huge winds and rain our power went off at 3am and as we go to bed tonight it is still off and by the sounds of it we might not have it back on tomorrow.

Life completely changes. Our water supply is pumped from the tank, so no flush in the loo, and water needs to be collected from elsewhere. We do have the advantage of a gas hob and have made a few welcome cups of coffee for neighbours. The rain stopped tonight so fired up the barbie to cook dinner,

Sadly a large tree was uprooted in town, falling on a car and killing the driver. A real tragedy.

The locals have rallied around and made sure everyone has water and are able to heat a meal. A great community.
