Apple toast

Spent the New Year dining with friends from the mining valleys who have a flat here in Gijón, overlooking the marina.

In previous years when we've passed New Years eve with family we've always toasted the New Year with Cava sparkling wine. Our friends however always toast it with local sparkling cider. This year they were trying a different brand Norniella, family cider makers since 1878, based on a recommendation. Although I'm off alcohol at the moment I made an exception for the toast. I must say the sidra made a nice change from Cava.
