THE STROMNESS LOG PULL

We went down to see the great Stromness Log Pull - a 400 kilo pine log was attached to a 4" sisal rope & at the signal 70 Soothies heaved & strained against 70 Northies .

We were expecting a long drawn out battle, but it was all over in about five minutes. The Soothies hauled the Northies uphill on their bums (extra) over the line at the Bank of Scotland.
