Out for a wee sail in the car.

In the 6th to 8th centuries, the coastal settlements of east Antrim traded and intermarried with the Scots from the inner Hebrides and Argyll.  It was much easier to cross the water between Scotland and Ireland than it was to negotiate the local mountain tracks to trade with land-connected neighbours.  The lands of east Antrim and Hebrides/Argyll were known as the Kingdom of Dalriada. There is an expression in those parts "going our for a wee sail", meaning literally to go out for a pleasure trip on a small boat, but the saying has become part of modern usage so that "going for a wee sail in the car" means going our for a pleasure trip by car.  We drove up the coast as far as Glenarm.  Main pic is of the harbour and you can see the Scottish shoreline on the horizon.  Extras are the harbour from another viewpoint and the view up the coast towards Cushendun.  It was a lovely "wee sail out".
