If you can't beat them...

Early evening at Derwentwater.

It was a lovely afternoon and the car needed filled up ready for whatever the week brings.  So we killed two birds with one stone, a fill up and a run to Keswick.

Wandering our way down to the lake the field was heaving with people.  Every other person seemed to be taking photos, most on mobile phones.  However there were 7 of us with tripods and a few more with DSLRs.  This made me wonder:  I have never known photography so popular the question is why.

Are folk graduating to serious photography from a mobile or is it the immediate results which makes photography so attractive.  The majority of the tripod users were of "a certain age" did they beginning as film photographers and move to digital.  I was left pondering.

So the blip is one of my shots of the sun going down just as it disappeared behind the hills about 50 minutes before the sun was due to set on the coast.t
