If you can't beat them...

Ullswater "Steamer".

As it was another lovely day we decided to go to the Lodge by the scenic route, down to the Lake and along via Pooley Bridge.  We stopped for a while in the NT car park at Aira Force and had a wander down to the new (well new by the standards of somebody who has lived in the area for 50 years) pier there.

While taking general shots one of the steamers (yes I know they haven't been under steam for decades but they are still called steamers) came in to the pier.  It was Lady Wakefield, she was originally built in 1949 as the MV Berry Castle arriving at Ullswater in 2006.  2015 and Storm Desmond was nearly her end she was damage and taking on water.  She was saved by being run aground.  She returned to service 5 months later after being docked for repairs.
