Before My Time #2

I thought I'dstart the new year off with, perhaps, a weekly item even older than me, that has meant something to me. If I subsequently part with any of these items, at least I will still have the image and the story.

#2 Collar Box: I have no idea how old this collar box is but they were first made in the 1860s and fell out of use in the 1930s. I first came across it over 40 years ago when The Man's parents came to stay with us. No, my father-in-law wasn't wearing removable collars on his shirts in those days. They used this box to contain their medications.

When, finally my mother-in-law came to live with use, this box lived in a kitchen cabinet and it was my job to dish out the tablets from it.
