The cat whisperer :)

Up and out to the Puffn Pool really early. A REALLY heavy frost covered every surface and I could just see the trees glistening white as they were lit up in the headlights as we travelled to Dingwall. A good dip in the warm pool and a good catch up with Anne. I could see the developing orange sky and glow from the sun whilst doing my exercises.A pretty drive home along side a calm Firth.
A quick cup of tea and then out with IsleMum. A run up to Cromarty where we parked the car and went looking for snowdrops. We soon forgot about the snowdrops when we entered the graveyard of the Old Gaelic Church. A pipe had burst and water was spurting out and had frozen over the gravel making incredible round marble shapes. One leave that lay on the path had a whole coating of ice surrounding it.
The sun was lighting up the ruins of the church which had even more ivy covering it than the last time I was there. The two little doors at the entrance are no longer there, one was inside, a shame as one had a really nice rusty metal heart attached to it, luckily I had taken photos of it before.Inside trees were growing and birds were singing, a perfect place for them to nest. I also noticed the masons mark so have been side tracked for a while trying to find out some more info.
Have now found out that it is a cut benchmark more info here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benchmark_(surveying)
Next we walked along the Links to ‘The Slaughter house’ for a drink of hot chocolate for me and coffee for IsleMum. We sat next to the log burner , it was lovely and warm and a good atmosphere and surpringly busy. It’s a tiny converted shed that has had many uses through out the years, including the town slaughter house.
As we walked back to the car we were joined by a friendly black and white cat.It followed us and I was trying to get a good photo of him but he would nt stay still so when we got to the lighthouse, IsleMum tried some cat whispering and she got him to follow her and sit on the bench and pose for a photo. It then followed us all the way back to the car.
IsleMum had seen a dead badger on her walk this morning so we went down to have a look. Sorry if it sounds a bit gory but although sad it was interesting to see one close up, huge paws and claws and nice white teeth, poor thing. We wondered what had happened to it and why it was on the beach, it also means that there are other badgers around.
