Lake Rotoroa.....

....or Hamilton Lake.

Just missed the reflections of the hospital and surrounding buildings as a slight breeze rippled the lake while I leapt from the car, oh well......

Hamilton Lake brings back many memories of my student days....Sunday afternoons lazing in the sun listening to free concerts from local bands, markets with homemade jewellery for sale, a place to wander through the trees or just to sit and jot down a few words, it was in those lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer......so long ago now.....

The lake is now a place of recreation, sailing and canoes, joggers and walkers, short bush walks and a small golf green. A place to feed the swans and ducks, enjoy coffee and cake with stunning views right in the heart of the city - does it get much better, I didn't think so back in my student days.

After dinner we went in search for today's sculpture:

Riff Raff from The Rocky Horror Show
The statue of Riff Raff commemorates the development of the idea and writing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show by Richard O'Brien, who lived in Hamilton and worked next door to the site of the now demolished Embassy Theatre where this statue is located.
