White substance from the sky

It's been snowing all day here. Since our house is located behind a hill we haven't been able to go anywhere - by car, that is. Actually, the plow tractor is plowing our yard and road as I write, so we are finally able to go shopping, etc. Of course we could plow the hill by hand but since the tractor was going to come at some point anyway... Anyways, the image is of a "rack where you beat your carpets clean" - I have no idea what it's called in english :)
