Autumn Trees near Ashness Bridge

First full day today at Lakeland Photographic Holidays dawned rather grey looking but then turned into the most glorious conditions for the rest of the day. We decided to stay in the Keswick area and John took us first to Derwentwater where we were treated to rising mist on the mountains and a glassy calm lake for fabulous reflections.

We then traveled up to Ashness Bridge which was as usual awash with walkers and photographers so searching for a quiet spot I walked up the road to find this view of the fells over a farm gate with the trees in various stages of Autumn colour.

After a picnic lunch it was on to Watendlath hamlet until the sun disappeared behind the mountains, a wonderful place to enjoy the superb light.

A fantastic day ended with Gail Gravetts superb cooking followed by a viewing and comments by John on photos taken during the day. I don't know how we can top a day like this but we will give it our best shots.
