This tiny hallmarked gold flask charm contains drops of the first North Sea oil that was brought ashore in 1975.  For a few decades oil was considered to be very important for Scotland’s economy but then many North Sea platforms were shut down as oil prices were too low to justify drilling. Yesterday Shell announced that they will start drilling in the North Sea for the first time for many years.
Unfortunately the quality is poor as I had to crop this.
Thanks to  Thisislife for today’s Tiny Tuesday challenge of ‘The mineral kingdom’.
