For all your.....

..... computer needs.   We went back to the electronic m all to get some printer ink cartridges refilled.  It took half an hour and cost around  $4 or £2 each.

Our next project is to get a pink identity card each.  This is a new thing and not compulsory.  Hubby has a Thai driving license which acts as ID and gets him into museums etc. at half price.  I do not.  Also you are supposed to carry ID or your passport at all times.  I carry a copy of my passport, so an ID card will be great for me.  Our research led us to believe that this card was available through our local council office.  This is not strictly true. We applied for the card there with proof of residency and  were issued with a letter the next step is to the  go to the Government Building in the centre of Chiang Mai, with our letter and proof of residency and a Thai person.  We assume that it should be a person who knows us and not just a random person.  We were told the building was near the American Embassy  next to the Ping River.  Off we went to reccy the area and  very glad we did.  It's  neither near the US Embassy or next to the river. We did eventually find the correct place  and will be going there on Tuesday, with a Thai friend plus the  necessary paper work. Watch this space.

My photo is of the computer mall.
