The green grass of home

It’s hard to believe that this time last week we didn’t have a green blade of grass on the farm. It was very stressful, hoping that we had enough supplement feed to keep the cows milking. And in addition to this you are worrying about paying the bills when your income has been cut in half. Our area was being monitored with the prospect of being declared a drought zone by the Government. It’s very stressful stuff.

And then in the matter of a week we’ve gone from brown to green again, and what a pleasure it has been to see! We had over 100mm of rain in that week - it’s like seeing money fall from the sky!
