Crackin’ Up

Spotted this out on our walk at lunchtime..I have never seen anything like it before. Great sheets of ice cracking up - the noise was amazing.

I can only guess that  the corner of the field filled with water and froze on the top. Then the underlying water has drained away to take away the support for the ice which was falling into the tractor tyre ruts under its own weight.

The quality of the photo is awful - still not getting consistently good results with this new camera. I have added an extra which restores a little faith in the TZ90 - some Old Man’s Beard (or Traveller’s Joy) glistening in the sunshine.
