Sophie On The Old Joanna

We met up with Kate & Sophie at Tyntesfield, the National Trust property near Clevedon today. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed a bracing stroll in the gardens befor doing a tour of the house, where Sophie was particularly taken with the piano.

The staff were very kind and let her 'play' it. She insisted on going back at the end of the tour for another go. Couldn't resist this shot of her fingers flying over the keys.

The house belonged to the Gibbs family, successful merchants in Victorian times, who made a fortune importing guano from Peru; where there's muck, there's brass! The house boasts an impressive private chapel and carved wooden ceilings as well as being the first house in Somerset to have electric lighting.
