No drunken birds need apply !!.....

These remarkably straight bird tracks appeared on the smattering of snow on our deck in the last few days. It is obviously a large bird and I suspect it was probably the cock pheasant that has been visiting us for some weeks. It often sits on the fence surrounding the decking which affords it a great view across the paddock to see if there are any predators about, so I suspect it just hopped down to the decking. However, I always think of pheasants as rather over large and lumbering birds so how it managed to put one foot in front of the other so successfully I can't imagine
