Dubai Day 1 View from our balcony

Today we got up at 5.30 am to catch our flight to Dubai, the last leg of our holiday.  We arrived at around 1.30pm, which gave us the afternoon to recover from the early start and yet another time change: Dubai is 4 hours behind  Singapore.
We are staying at the same hotel that we stayed in last year when we travelled to Sydney with our entire family for our niece's wedding but this time decided to go for a room with a better view.  We were not disappointed: this view from our balcony, just after dusk, shows Jumeirah Beach and to the left the Ain Dubai (Dubai Eye).  When were last here, not all the segments had been completed and although the circle is now complete, there are still pods to be added before it is functional.   It will be the largest observation wheel in the world (what else in Dubai!!)  standing 210 m high.
As our body clocks were struggling, Mr MC and I were in bed early, but not for a good night's sleep:  there is some sort of festival going on along JBR and while we loved getting up to view the fantastic fireworks from our balcony at 10pm, we were less enthused by the partying going on until 4am.  Well, that's Dubai for you!
