Eagle watching

John and I drove to The Dalles to see the eagles gathering near the dam this time of the year. The eagles are viewed across part of the river, but my lens is not big enough to get good shots that far. So the eagle pictures are poor, in the extras. The main blip is of the hills on Washington side in the setting sun, as we are heading home.
Just a stellar day; what a treat it is to see so many of the magnificent birds (we counted 45, there were more). We were there in the morning, then went to the town for a bit, and later back to the river. An eagle would catch fish (they are masters at it!), take it back to the tree, then end up in a tussle when another bird would try to steal it. I think they are there for a couple more weeks, if anyone is interested...
I was envious of the fancy lenses and cameras people had.
