Stairwell.

Another busy, busy day. I managed to get all but one thing finished today at my secondment office and was only a little bit late to meet some of the girls from my regular office for dinner. We had a quick tea at The Dutch Mill (distinctly average) and then headed over to the Rugby Club for the first office Pub Quiz - hopefully not the last, as it was very good fun. There were about 70 of us there (quite a small portion of the office staff, but a great crowd) and we split into teams of 4-5. Questions ranged from: "what was the Lone Ranger's 'civilian' name?" to "what does a hollow circle mean on a clothing label?" (John Reid, dry-clean only). We came a very respectable 10th, with a LOT of help from a guy that had only just joined the company last week; he works in Safety (the rest of the team were blubber huggers Environmental) and had an astounding knowledge of everything from the name of a group of owls (a parliament) to the year Lady Gaga released 'Just Dance' (2008).

Open bars are good. Laughing with colleagues is good. Meeting people from other departments that you wouldn't normally meet is good. Team names like 'Team Flange' are laughably good (working in the oil and gas industry allows a fair few giggles over things like flanges, subsea pig launchers and acronymns like POOH). Home to bed to find M asleep, so I obviously had to wake him up and ask him all the questions my team didn't know the answers to... And he knew them all!

Today's Blip is the stairway of the block M and I currently live in, taken in the dark. Tomorrow we will start moving out of the wee flat that has been home for the last 16 months; although we'll only be down the road I'm quite sad to leave - this building holds good memories for us... Even if the stairwell does look a bit creepy and dank...
