Water in Crisis

No appreciable rain here since March and it's in the mid thirties. water, put anywhere on the soil vanishes in seconds. Its a crisis and water levels in wells and swamps are dropping to lows.
We are lucky on this farm to have one small stream feeding our Venice of aquaducts by by gravity. We distribute the water by a series of little dams, so we can raise and lower our water table anywhere in a few hours!!
We also have a bigger stream from which we can pump water into the aquaducts or our tanks with a total volume of about a quarter of a million litres.

This little pipe in the picture keeps the flow going after about half a mile and feeds the fishponds, where we have a big loss through evaporation.

It will probably be another month before the rains appear!!
