New View

Recent tree-felling at Chatelherault has opened-up new views from the steep banks of the river Avon.

Commissioned by William the 11th Duke of Hamilton who died in 1863. The Dukes Bridge spans 80ft above the Avon gorge and permits access to the ancient oaks and Cadzow Castle.

The path along the river was the route today, avoiding high winds and beside the white water rapids.
