The Climb to the Summit

Today 38 members of the walking group drove to the base of the Cardrona ski field, and from there took the Chondola (combination of chair and gondola), to the top of the ski trail.  Extra 1.

From the top some of the group headed up to the summit (main blip), while others headed down the walking track (extra 2).  We had our lunch in the shade of the fence while looking out over the Wakatipu Basin.  Extra 3.  The 4th extra is the view of the Base buildings from the track.  Looked like 'toy town' I thought.  Another very hot day, +33C in town, +23 in the mountains.
