From The Road

This is Weka Pass in the north Canterbury.  The Waipara River cut the Weka Pass by wearing down the soft limestone and mudstone in the area. Erosion has created a number of distinctive limestone formations in the pass.  We went through here today on our way to Christchurch.  The first part of the trip was constant rain and once on the Canterbury side it was strong hot winds.  Tomorrow is friend Ken's memorial service.
