Blocking

This is the final step for this ridiculously long shawl. Following some advice from a friend, I stretched it out ( a process called blocking) to almost the required shape ( why was it SO wide??) on the kids' trampoline.
After 24 hours of drizzle and sun, I released it from the porcupine of pins and can now consider it completed. I am not certain just what its application will be though. Time will tell.

It was the first day back at school for the two older Breakeys. Unfortunately, our departure was a little chaotic resulting in a mercy dash home for a misplaced bag of books, and more importantly, a forgotten sleeping bag for a school camp that was departing immediately. Eek!
So, no traditional first day official photo was taken, but hey! a 2nd day one will be just as good!
