Forest of Dean

We've come to Gloucestershire to see son R for a long weekend. He is the planner for an orienteering event tomorrow which means he has planned the courses and has to put out all the electronic checkpoints.  He met us here after work and has gone off into the forest with a head torch to put out 40 checkpoints.  We spent the afternoon exploring Beechenhurst Woods; the site of the old Speech House Colliery. These carved old sleepers are on the track of the old colliery railway.
