Henley Lake.....

.....in Masterton as the sun sets.

A great flight into Wellington earlier today, over the city instead of straight in from Cook Strait, many were swimming in the harbour as it's another warm day. We picked up our rental car, collected A from work in the CBD and then drove over the Rimutaka's to the Wairarapa. Stopping along the way for a lovey meal at Greytown Hotel before making our way to Masterton.

It was 32C on arriving, we were sizzling. Threw our bags in our rooms at the motel and headed out for a stroll round Henley Lake where there was a light breeze blowing and some lovely tall trees creating shaded areas for a stop for a breather. Canada geese were coming in off the lake to roost as the sun was going down, at least 40 of them of which we had to walk through, this I didn't enjoy! Well if they stretched their necks we would be eyeball to eyeball! I was relieved to get through this part.

And then to see the sun set was pure magic, gentle warm breeze, some wispy clouds, just nice to stop for a while.

Enjoy the weekend everyone :)
