Another quilt!!

I’ve signed up to another quilting group, this time to make an Art Deco single quilt. All of my existing groups are ‘do your own thing’ and we take what ever we want to do and we help each other out.

This one is more formally organised. We started on two blocks, ‘lightning’, the simple one in the picture and ‘the road to know where’ which is the collection of pieces at the bottom of the picture.

It’s a beginners class, so I made speedy progress. Some of the later blocks are more complex and I will learn new techniques.
The class ran from 10 -3, so quickly home to have a rest and then got ready to get dressed up to go out for dinner.

The Worshipful Company of Educators are having a weekend visit to Lincoln, starting with dinner at their hotel this evening.
B, R & P are Liverymen and P has been involved in the local organisation of the event. We had an informative talk about the history of Lincoln cathedral before dinner.

Over the years I’ve met such interesting people at the dinners in London. Sitting down with people you are unlikely to have met before has taught me the value of talking to ‘strangers’ and learning about different perspectives on life.

Amber has gone to stay with her doggy friends for a couple of nights. The kitchen seems so strange without her ‘stuff’. B took the opportunity whilst she and I were out today, to do a cleaning session!!! Nice one !!!!
