Anither O the twine,
An they wappp'd them roun that gude ship's side,
But still the sea cam in....
Who remembers having to learn Sir Patrick Spens in school? This is in the full Scottish, sadly it doesn't end well.

Markus_Hediger has set the next Experimental Photography challenge and the theme is Collage.  A quick trip down to the pier and all sorts of nice watery things going on, hence the Sir Patrick Spens moment.

A beautiful day, in between the torrential but brief hail storms. I have been out in the garden for most of it - unwrapping the compost bins. All good stuff and seven barrowloads taken into the polytunnel.  Back breaking though so it had to be interspersed with a bit of fruit tree cage uncovering. I am now filthy. And there's frogspawn on the pond.

Another interesting thing - did you know it's St Blaise's Feast Day today?  There are Masses being said all over the place and you can go and have your throat blessed for he is patron saint of sore throats and wool combers. Yes, there is a connection for whilst imprisoned for his faith, he miraculously saved a child who was choking to death on a fishbone.  He refused to renounce his faith and was martyred using iron wool combers.  A sort of a watery connection too - fishbone!
