Happy

Although I have had a few people waving me away or hiding their faces, the majority of people here in South Vietnam seem very happy to be photographed.  This lady in a fish market clearly found the prospect hugely funny.

We have now moved south from Saigon towards the Mekong Delta. After the nosie and bustle of the city, it is pleasant to have an evening in a quiet homestead next to the river.  We had a demonstration this evening of how to cook a Vietnamese pancake (rice flour batter, coconut oil and a filling of bean sprouts and chopped pork) - and then cooked our own.  It was very tasty, together with a noodle soup, a beanspout noodle dish and a pork and pineapple dish (these other dishes were cooked for us by our hosts).  The rice wine to start the meal was good too!
