What a difference a day makes

We had the luck of the devil today. With snow and ice warning for both East and West Spain, the central corridor that we had planned to use was warning free... and so it turned out. There was snow on the mountains and we passed through areas of recently fallen snow but we saw not one flake fall. The wipers were not in use until the very final leg, when we had some rain as we exited the hills and reached the coast.

It was a long drive but turned out so much easier than it might.

We are back at Gran Camping Zarautz tonight and will take a rest day tomorrow before going back to France on Tuesday. That will be our longest leg yet so we will be up and off before breakfast, road conditions permitting. There are services at Castets, where we can grab a good French breakfast.

Should be in the Limousin by supper time.
