'Project 1000' - Half way through

5 more weeks till the end of 'Project 1000'. For those of you who read our Blip on the 1st January 2018 you will know that Ann has set herself a little challenge called 'Project 1000'. In 10 weeks she has to cycle 1000 miles, walk 1000 km and swim 1000 lengths.

Unfortunately, after 19 days her 'Fitbit' stopped working, so since then she has been unable to measure how far she has walked each day. After 19 days she was on target for completion but as 1000 kms of walking in 10 weeks equates to about 15 kms a day; whether she would have been able sustain that level of walking for 10 weeks is doubtful especially as she was having to do a lot of the walking without me because I'm a bit snail like at times. Anyway the walking part of the challenge has had to be abandoned. Read our RANT about Fitbit below??!!

The rest of 'Project 1000' is going OK, though it is very time consuming. She's cycled more than 500 miles (on an exercise bike) in the last 5 weeks so is on target to complete 1000 miles in 10 weeks. However due to the logistics of when she can actually get to the swimming pool, she is 40 lengths behind where she would like to be for the swimming part of the challenge. Oh well, ho hum, a challenge isn't a challenge unless it's challenging. Lol! Check back in 5 weeks to see if she has managed to complete 'Project 1000'.

And now for the fitbit RANT......................................

This is the third fitbit Ann has had and until now the customer service that Ann has received from Fitbit has been fabulous. She has only had this particular fitbit since November when it was replaced due to her second fitbit failing. However according to Fitbit the warranty of this new fitbit replaces the warranty on the second fitbit (are you keeping up?) so it is out of it's 2 year warranty period, even though it's less than 3 months old??? Obviously Ann emailed them and told them this was ridiculous so as a 'gesture of goodwill' they are giving her 25% off the next one she buys. Mmmmmm.................... not sure whether this is worth pursuing or not?......................... On the one hand; Fitbit does make one a bit obsessive with checking to see how far one has walked. On the other hand, Ann would still like to try to 'walk 1000 kms in 10 weeks' later in the year. Oh and before any of you techie people say we can measure how far we walk on our phone.................... we know that. We always set ''Strava'  if I'm going on a big walk, but carrying a phone on ones' person at all times is not always possible. Ie, Ann has been known to walk more than 6 miles during a shift at work and she has no pockets in her work clothes so can't carry her phone about with her?!! OK rant over.

And if anyone is interested..................... This is a Blip of me having a bit of a splish, splash, splosh, in the Braid Burn. I had to have early afternoon walk today because Ann went out for lunch this afternoon at 'Maison Bleue' and didn't take me. She didn't even bring me any little titbits back. Boohooo!!!!
