Sgwarnog: In the Field

Five

A freezing evening for football, but the pitch at Horsfall Stadium was in pretty good nick so the match, rearranged having already been lost to the weather once, was able to go ahead.

Much of the pre-match chatter was around whether Bradford Park Avenue manager Mark Bower might be poached by neighbours Halifax or,  given the news from Bradford City earlier in the day, even by the Valley Parade lot.

Avenue have been having a strong season in the National League North although their results have dipped a little of late. Visitors Gainsborough Trinity have been struggling near the foot of the table and proved unable to withstand Bradford's positive play: a 2-0 lead in no time and three more in the second half gave a very comfortable 5-0 home win.

As usual at BPA I indulged in a little bit of crate digging in the club shop before kick-off, with three examples of the clip art design icon Sideburn Bob being my reward (extra).
