Form day

This is the construction project just around the corner from our house. I'm not sure whether it is going to be a house or a small apartment.

I know I have lots of construction photos, but I'm amazed by the building that is going on here. There's lots of it, it happens quickly, and a lot gets done with different materials than at home. Machines are expensive, but labour is not. Stone, gravel, and cement are all carried by hand, sometimes up many stories. I'm most impressed with how the eucalyptus supports for the forms are so precise.

We had a very worthwhile meeting with Dawit, the program director for FM AAU and three of the Core group for family medicine. They are all specialists (since there are no family docs here) who have done a lot of the important preliminary work for the residency. We discussed evaluation, choices of preceptors and many other topics. I think the Canadian group (Abbas, Anj, Brian and I) left feeling informed and more enthused.
