El Rocio, Spain

I've wanted to visit this place ever since I first heard of it ages ago from friends who had visited the famous Coto Donana national park nearby. It has a different feel from anywhere else I've been, with streets made of sand, hitching-posts for horses outside every building, and horses everywhere. This church, the Hermitage of El Rocio, houses the venerated statue of the Virgin. It is paraded through the town each year attracting one million visitors.
On a cold winter day the place was still fairly busy with locals, tourists and day trippers enjoying the sunshine.
