Cravings...

My friends Sean and Julie had their baby yesterday morning...posted a picture of the three of them...he came in at almost 2 ft and just under 13 pounds!

Current addiction - these little Sweet & Salty bars by Nature Made. They really do satisfy my sweet/salty craving and hold me over until I can really get what my body needs. The nuts in these bars really do help calm my sweet craving.

I have the worst cravings for foods - always have. Typically when you crave certain foods - it's physiological...your body telling you that you need something that you are deficient in, something that your body needs.

If you crave a lot of sweets like chocolate (like I do at random times) - what your body really needs is magnesium...foods like raw nuts, legumes, and fruits.

Another craving of mine - burned foods (like toast)...indicates you are missing carbon...fresh fruits help with this craving.

If you crave oily snacks - your body needs calcium...mustard greens, broccoli, kale, legumes, cheese, and sesame.

A big one of mine - chewing ice...your body is missing Iron. Which is true...I am anemic. Eat foods like meats, fish, poultry, seaweed, greens, and black cherries.

Salty foods - missing chloride in your body...eat seafood and sea salt.

Acidic foods - another big craving of mine...you are missing magnesium. Eat raw nuts, seeds, legumes, and fruits.

For those who are trying to quit smoking and crave tobacco - you are missing silicon and tyrosine. Try nuts, seeds and avoid starches. Vitamin C supplements, orange, and green/red vegetables help relieve those cravings.

Lack of appetite - missing B1 (nuts, seeds, beans, organ meats like liver), B3 (tuna, halibut, beef, chicken, turkey, pork, seeds, legumes), Manganese (walnuts, almonds, pecans, pineapple, blueberries), Chloride (raw goat milk, sea salt).

General overeating - missing Silicon (nuts, seeds, and avoid starches), Tryptophan (cheese, lamb, raisins, sweet potatoes, spinach), Tyrosine (Vitamin C supplements, orange, green/red vegetables.

Pre-menstrual cravings - missing Zinc from your body. Try eating red meats, seafood, leafy vegetables, and root vegetables.

Cool drinks - missing manganese...try foods like walnuts, almonds, pecans, pineapple, blueberries.

Coffee and tea cravings - you are missing phosphorus (chicken, beef, poultry, eggs, dairy, nuts), Sulfur (egg yolks, red peppers, garlic, onion), Salt (sea salt, apple cider vinegar), Iron (meat, fish, poultry, seafood, nuts).

Alcohol cravings - missing Protein (meal, poultry, seafood, nuts, dairy), Avenin (granola, oatmeal), Calcium (mustard greens, broccoli, kale, legumes, cheese, sesame), Glutamine (glutamine powder or raw cabbage juice), Potassium (black olives, seaweed, bitter greens).
