Sheep Enclosure

This has been in the blipbank for years, as I've admired the shepherd's crook decoration on the gates but this is the first time that I have managed to see sheep in this end of the field.

Our walk in the estate of Penicuik House took us from the carpark by Carlops Road towards the Low Pond, across the North Esk and beside the Hare Burn and up into the beech wood, as the sun began to cast its rosy glow over the Pentlands (extra photo), returning on a more direct footpath.
One day we will have time to visit the Allan Ramsay monument, situated a few hundred yards away from where we turned round.
