Inverness Town Hall

A busy day in Inverness.First we watched the cars set off on the Snowman Rally ,the drivers were interviewed at the start line. One car had a two lady team, the only one in the race. The winning car was a mixed team so great to see ‘girls’ taking part :)
On to the Town Hall that had an open day after it’s refurbishment, inside and out.A beautiful building with lots of historic bits and pieces, including swords that were used in the Battle at Culloden and wonderful stained glass windows.
Then to the castle viewpoint( free entry for a few days )We watched a film from a drone of familiar landmarks and then walked up the steps through the glass dome and outside.Great views down the river Ness and across the city. The sun decided to disappear and there was a slight sleet shower.
Down to the museum for a tasty lunch of Scotch Broth and Bacon,Brie and cranberry toastie and tea.Very nice , will definitely go there again.
We looked at the automata exhibition, A Curious Turn. Some fantastic pieces and plenty of hands on which the children were really enjoying.
A hunt for the Rally cars on the way home and we spotted a few now covered in mud :)
