Chester

We drove to Chester this morning for a short break.  We have never been to the city before and first impressions are very favourable.  After lunch we went for a walk on the old Roman city walls which circumnavigates the whole of the centre of the town, a distance of two miles.  We ended up at the cathedral, a silhouette of which is my entry to today's Mono Monday hosted by Kangazu.

The extra shows the apartment block, on the left, where our Airbnb flat overlooks the canal.  Opposite is Steam Mill, a former mill built in 1785, one of the first canal-side steam-powered flour mills.
