Chester - Day 2

It was raining this morning, in fact it rained until about three, but it did not deter us from getting out and exploring more of this interesting city. One incredible fact we discovered was that there are three, yes three, branches of Nero in the city centre. We managed to visit two of them today, the other we were at yesterday!

We started by visiting the Grosvenor Museum and became absorbed by the Roman display, they were so advanced technically, it was just a shame about the invading, conquering and slavery, the Sky Atlantic TV series Britannia was a good, if gory, picture.

After lunch we went for a walk along the river, where we spotted a pair of cormorants, this is, I think, a juvenile stretching his/her wings, then took a short pleasure cruise on the Dee. Very interesting with a good commentary.

We finished our touristy day by visiting the Roman Amphitheatre that was saved and excavated following a plan to build a road through it.
