Life through the lens...

Vinnie, World record holder..Maybe!

This is little Vinnie the new Dexter calf born on the 9th October at our local farm.
He was rejected by his mother at birth, probably because he is was so small.
48cm Tall and only 51cm long. Half the size of a normal Dexter calf.

He is quite a star. Was on ITV Calendar, and BBC Look North this week.
Also they have had a visit from the Guinness Book of Records as he may be the worlds smallest of the breed.
He didn't seem very happy today with all the attention, as you can see by the look on his face!

Dexter cows originated in the South West of Ireland. Descended from the predominately black cattle of the early Celts.
First introduced into England in 1882.
The smallest British breed. The meat is popular because of its outstanding flavour, good marbling, small joints, and good meat to bone ratio.
It is a bit more expensive but the steak tastes wonderful.

We buy all our meat from the farm shop, but not this little feller, he is being kept as a pet!!!

Have now finished all the back blips of our holiday in Mallorca.
Many thanks for the stars and favs for my sunset. I was really pleased with the photo too.
