Life through the lens...

The Gathering Storm

However we were lucky as it was only a rain shower, and we finished our walk in sunshine, which was not what we expected.

We started out in the village of Grassington. Walked up onto the hills,. Over the top , and down to the little village of Coniston, which is where we stopped for our picnic lunch.
Then climbed back up and into Grass Woods.
This is when the sun came out.
The woodland is owned by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
It is a very ancient woodland and in the centre is Fort Gregory, and iron age fort.
Mind you all you can see are heaps of stones, covered in moss and bracken.
The path was very slippery today, partly because of all the fallen leaves.
Two of our friends fell ( fortunately not badly hurt. Just a few bruises) I managed to stay upright (just)

Another lovely walk, with beautiful views. Interesting limestone rocks. The river, and old woodland.
One we would like to do when the bluebells are out, as the woods are full of them.

We were very glad that the weather forcast was wrong, and we didn't get the heavy showers.

Difficult to chose a photo today. But this one won!

Hope you have all had a good weekend.
