Tavira

I’d never heard of Tavira before we booked this holiday. It’s in the Eastern Algarve, quite close to the Spanish border, and has an ancient history of salt production - our hotel room has within the scope of its quaint view the vista of greyish salt-pans leading off to the just-visible sea.

I took this photo about 5pm on a walk round town to get acquainted with the layout. It’s lovely - at least the old centre is - and we shall revisit it on our free day.

But today we’ve been on the go since 4am and flown here and met new people and ... and ... and only care about one thing.

Bed.
