Diary of an Edinburgher

Tasty lunch!

Gym visit ✔️

I went along in a pair of large Jackie Onassis (or is it Victoria Beckham these days) sunglasses to hide my greeny yellow eye. I did feel a bit daft, because they kept steaming up as my face sweated. Funnily enough, after three fish suppers and a poke of chips over the last week, I hadn’t put on any weight! Brilliant.

Elizabeth came to collect an excited Archie, and off they went for their usual long walk. And such a nice day they had for it too, though very cold.

We decided to pop down to a wee cafe we'd looked in on a week or so ago, but it had been very busy. This time we got a table, and what a fab meal we had too (Extra). They specialise in Mexican street food, but it was nothing like any food we ever had when we were in Mexico!

We had the avocado, the roast squash, and the tiger prawns (see menu). They were all absolutely delicious. In fact, we had to have an extra plate of tiger prawns. There was a very good sound system, and good music. And the waiter had a lovely big black beard. We'll be back!

Elizabeth had time for a wine and a chat, with Archie sighing happily on her lap. Later on, I popped out Uncle A's flat to meet up with my cousin visiting from America.

Didn’t we do well in the crazy Winter Olympics!
